I Can Be Crafty, and Not in a Sneaky Way.

Lately, pinterest has inspired me to do crafty things. So, I make things for my friends. Here are a few of them.

This is what I made for my Harry Potter obsessed friend.

I painted a light switch on the right. I took the picture before the final touches were made, which were sparkles.

 I almost kept this one for myself, haha. I made a wind chime from bottle caps. This is actually my second one, the first one i painted the caps, and wired them together. I used only Bell's Brewery bottle caps, (keeping it local!) and drilled holes in the caps, and wired them together.

This is a dragonfly made from wire, blue beads, and an old bangle bracelet.

There's no link for this one, it's a last minute project that turned out better than I thought it would.


Here's the first bottle cap wind chime I made for my Mom. I painted these caps blue and used an old cd to connect them all.

Pinterest is awesome. I'll keep adding my crafty projects as I make them.

Hey Now, I have 20 Pairs of All-Stars.

So, in the last post I mentioned that i needed one more pair of Converse All Stars to make it a nice even twenty pairs. Guess what i got?

Yes! They DO look like disco balls! 

Now, i have a total of TWENTY pairs of Chucks. I have pretty much every color you can think of. And eventually I am going to wear a pair a day, and being as I am, take a photo of them. I'll more than likely blog about that. And i know you'll all be excited to read it.

So, i watch a lot of cartoons. I babysit, and i use that as an excuse to watch these cartoons. Lately, i've been missing Animaniacs like CRAZY.

Summer is over, sadly, and again it flew by.

Things I'll miss about the summer.
- Fireflies, or lightning bugs.
-having the windows open and the warm rain falling.
-warm weather.
-flip flops.
-longer days. 
-wild flowers. 

Things i will NOT miss.
-bugs.
-110 degree weather.


So, fall is upon us, and with that it brings:
-cooler weather.
-sweaters.
-leaves.
-halloween.
-World Series.
-pretty fall colors.
- new episodes of my fav. shows.

Piercing Blue Eyes of an Ice Dragon

Tigers, well, we got swept by the Mariners last year too, and we were fine.
They've released Brandon Inge. And this is bad and good. He's a good person, gives back to Detroit, and liked living in Michigan, and everyone loved him, well, not everyone. He was batting .100. And, that's not good, baseball-wise, and his fielding at second base was iffy to say the least. So, the Tigers let him go. I hope he finds a team he can play for and actually PLAYS for them.

Delmon. I have no words for you.

Community and 30 Rock were AWESOME last night. (April 26) The Law and Order Community was fantastical, i never want this show to end. And 30 Rock, you had PAUL FREAKING MCCARTNEY and i flipped out. The live show was wonderful, and i thought it was funnier than last years live show.
This connects the two.

Meanwhile, in unrelated baseball news. Lisa and i were talking via the IM a few months ago, and she sends me a link for the Goyte song "Somebody I Used to Know"  She warned me about the "nudity." lol. And they played this song on Glee a few weeks ago, and thinking it sounded familiar, i thought, i like this song. Then, Goyte was on SNL, and i re-watched the video and everything fell into place. What's my point you may ask, and my reply would be, i don't remember. No, wait, i do, my point is this song has been stuck in my noggin since the SNL performance. And that i should just start listening to whatever music Lisa does. She told me about Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" before I even knew who Gaga was.

April in the D is BACK.

Today is Wednesday, and of course that means, tomorrow is Thursday, but this week's Thursday has an added bonus. What is it you may ask, because normal Thursdays consist of Community and 30 Rock, what could possibly make this week's Thursday better?

OPENING DAY OF MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL

That's right, baseball is back, well, Wednesday consists of a game between the Tigers and the Toledo Mud Hens, this should be interesting, of course, because the Mud Hens are a minor League farm team for the Tigers, also, Jamie Farr, Corporal Klinger on M*A*S*H is from Toledo, and therefore a Mudhens fan. But, who does one root for? Doesn't matter, they are all Tigers. 

I'm so glad baseball is back. 

This post was suppose to be more relevant, but it's not. So, sorry about that. I'm just very excited for baseball to be back.

Happy Spring Training.

I had someone recently tell me that he follows the Tigers better because of my facebook posts. He told me i should write a blog, i told him about my Twitter, he follows me now. I've had many people tell me they keep up with the Tigers because of my facebook, i laugh when i hear that. It's about to get all sorts of basebally on my FB.




Maybe i will use this as a Tiger blog of sorts. We shall see.


The Tigers are starting Spring Training. This is good, it means that spring and summer are soon here. We have a pretty good shot at the World Series this year, i don't want to jinx anything, so I will say no more.

Hi.

Having my own computer was a luxury. I miss my Mackie.
So, it was 55 degrees out yesterday, the last day of January. I had my window open for a few minutes, just letting the breeze in. It was awesome. I hope that February isn't a snow-megdon again.

Hello January.

Holy Moses. Long time no talk bloggy people.

Recap:
The weather in Kalamazoo is crazy. Last week, we got about 8 inches of snow. Then, it warmed up for a day, then, more snow. Last night, THUNDERSTORM. Today, rain, and wind, and SNOW.
Anyway. My Mackie is sick again, perhaps forever this time.
I've been watching a lot more football this year, mainly due to the Lions not sucking as much as they have in the past 13 years. They even made the playoffs, and that's impressive.
Words with friends is ADDICTIVE. My friend and I have at least EIGHT games going right now. I've been taking a photo a day since the 1st, and putting them into my facebook. Some pictures are awesome, some are less awesome.
I rewatched Arrested Development. I love that show. I will be glad when the new episodes and the movie are made. I am interested to see how they do it.

I finished making  this today.

And old CD, buttons, green paint,  and crepe paper because i don't have red ribbon.

Jane Austen Wore All-Stars

Happy Birthday to my favorite author, Jane Austen.

I've been watching the movies based on Jane's novels. My favorites are of course:

Persuasion. I like both versions, they both have there qualities, and I don't understand why they have Anne running around Bath in the newer version. I get why, i think, but it just looks strange to me. The music is lovely though.

I'm also re-reading "Persuasion" 

And of course, Pride and Prejudice. I have five versions of this story, the best ones are the 1995 version, thank you BBC.

And the 2005 version.

I'm saving Pride and Prejudice for last. And am now going to watch "Sense and Sensibility" with Emma Thompson.

More Crafts.

Pride and Prejudice Ornaments.

I'm Crafty....and I can do Crafts Part TWO.

Here are a few more crafts I've.....crafted.

I had an old copy of "Pride and Prejudice" I cut up the pages, "decoupaged" them on to a wooden hallow book. I painted it with tea for that old fashioned look. And then, added gold glitter, because i wanted too. 

I painted 98 percent of these bottle caps. You can clearly tell which i didn't paint. My favs. are the MST3K one, actually, i like them all. They are pretty good. I'm impressed. 

Using tape, i made the lines on an old CD, painted the RED, GREEN, and RED. Painted Merry Christmas, and BOOM. There you go.

I'm Crafty....and I can do Crafts!

So, because of Pinterest, my little brain has been in overdrive with crafty ideas. So, a few days ago, i pulled out all those beer bottle caps and began to CRAFT.

I plan on sticking magnets on the back, and giving some of them away. The one in the right hand bottom corner is going to be for Inspector Spacetime.

That's just ONE of the ideas i have. Seriously, Pinterest, thank you.

You know when you have a cold? And you can tell it is coming, the throbbing of your head, the sudden tiredness? I felt that coming a few days ago. So, knowing I have things I needed to do this week i stayed up until about 3am on Saturday, but after church and Denny's I slept most of the day away on Sunday.
You can tell that there is something wrong with me when I asleep before 10.30pm. I took some Nitquil and was OUT. But the thing about nitquil is that it makes my dreams are sorts of CRAZY. And the sad thing is, i don't really remember any of them. They are all a crazy mess. I do remember bits about working at my old store, and it was during the time before the remodel, so that's odd. I wish i could remember the rest of these dreams.

And there is that moment you wake up, and realize that it is well past the time you thought you would actually wake up, and you curse the nitquil. Then, you notice that you feel slightly better, and then you thank the Nitquil.  And as you decide to "blog" about this, you stick a tissue up your nose so the snot doesn't get on your keyboard. You guys don't do that? Oh. Well, you should. It works rather nicely.

Whenever i take Nitquil, i think of this: Hibernol

All For What Now?

Gretch and I went to see "The Three Musketeers". I have thoughts. I will try to make it non spoilery.

MR. DARCY! (Matthew Macfadyen)
PERCY JACKSON! (also, the kid from the horrible movie, "The Number 23")
Lots of other actors, who were not French, but were pretending to be French but had English Accents.
What is up with D'Artagnan's haircut? It looked like he cut his bangs too short, because he did. Sorry hairdressers, it looked BAD.
Orlando Bloom told the King Louis that he was RETRO. WHAT? No, i know this is not historically accurate. I don't know that much about this time period, but that cannot be correct.
The music was very "Pirates of the Caribbean" which, i guess makes sense, because Will Turner was in the movie.
There is a character i like to call, "Lord Eye Patch" if you see the movie, you will understand.
Also, the uber baddy, from "Inglourious Basterds" was in it too. Christoph Waltz, and you love to hate that guy, he's such a good actor. And the Resident Evil chick, Milla Jovovich is pretty good too.

All and all, i DID like it, it was cheezy, yes, and i couldn't help think about the Chris O'Donnell, Charlie Sheen and Keifer Sutherland version of my youth. (oh jeez, that movie came out in 1993, good gravy) and the Gene Kelly version.

I think i need to rewatch the 1993 version. You know, for nostalgia and stuffs.

And Then....There was No Baseball For Jill

My baseball team is done for the year.
I got an extra two weeks in my season though.
We beat the yankees.
We had a FANTASTICAL year.
I love you guys. See you in MARCH. Go rest up, and JV stay single, *wink* lol.
